Sharon Jungclaus Gould has been an
artist since she decided the walls of her mother's living room would be ample
space for drawing on with her new box of crayons. Even though Mom didn't like
that much, she didn't discourage the drawing and love of art in her daughter.
She just gave her other interesting things to draw and paint on. Sharon
eventually graduated from John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, IN with an
interest in fashion and commercial art which she worked at for a couple years.
After marriage and two children she was a stay at home Mom until the kids
started school.
In 1976 she returned to school and
became a RegisteredOccupational
Therapist and has practiced for 33 years in a variety of settings over
the years.
She has worked with children,
adults, elderly adults, and in acute mental health in a hospital setting.
Whenever appropriate she has used art, crafts, and creative modalities with her
patients. But her love of art has always been present. She now works part time
as a therapist doing Home Care, and devotes the rest of her time to her art, the
co-op gallery she is part of, and her teaching with an emphasis on
SoulCollage®. Sharon has a fascination with gourds and gourd art, and mixed media painting. Please visit the other pages of
this website to view her art.
Sharon has two grown children, a
daughter and a son, two grandsons, and a new granddaughter. She lives near
Nashville,IN in beautiful Brown County on a small farm with her husband, four cats, and one special dog
named Max. She loves the woods, the abundance of wildlife that live nearby and
visit each day plus the peace of the place. Her closeness with nature inspires
much of her work.
