I hope you enjoy your time spent here with
my fine crafted gourds of all shapes and sizes. Some are of a Southwest
design, some are experimental in nature with mixed media painting and
papers applied to them, and some are rather whimsical. But all have been
"listened to" and developed into the image and creative results that you
see here. You see, gourds have a mind of their own, and even the best
laid plans don't always turn out as intended! So as a gourd artist, I
begin and let the gourd lead me to a wonderful, finished result.
You will see baskets, bowls, masks, figures and decorative
pieces.

and traditional painted works. My love of Nature and
the "spiritual fuel" that it provides influences both my gourd
art creations and my experimental painting. Recent
art explorations are mixed media works with an ancient,
petroglyph type focus of times long ago, mandalas that I call SpiritKeepers
and gourd Masks all made with natural fibers, beads, yarn
and found items from Nature.
In addition to
being an artist, I have worked as an Occupational Therapist for 30
years and am a Certified Expressive Art Therapist.
I enjoy combining my knowledge and expertise in both fields to
offer creative art sessions for those individuals interested in
using art to explore personal growth, harmony and healing during
life transitions. These sessions use a variety of art
mediums and techniques to explore creativity and growth in a
"right brain" manner.
